[[underlined]] Friday 22.[[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale is decidedly better today she slept well all night. 
I painted all the morning on N. 104. 
got letters this morning from Charles and Harriet she went to Holmesburg, was at the funeral of Jenny that May is better and seems to be reconcited with the death of her little one, that Burd takes it harder than she does.  Harriet and the two children talk of comeing up soon to stay a little while.

[[underlined]] Saturday 23.[[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale is much better especially this afternoon. 
I painted the front porch and fixed the front gate which was out of order. I am better today than I have been for a week past.

[[underlined]] Sunday 24.[[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale sat up this morning for a short time in the easy chair, but was very much overcome when she got to bed, on the whole she is better today. Brother George, Lydia & John dined with us. 
Vegetation is very much parched up for want of rain. The beans in the garden are all turning yellow, the celery that I pricked out has scearcely sprouted yet.

[[underlined]] Monday 25.[[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale had a good night, but she has not set up any today, it being rather cool, she is more chearful and stronger. 
I have been repairing the kitchen windows that were broken while cleaning &c. arrangeing various little matters about the house for it has been drizzling all day so I couldnot be in the garden 
Mary went this afternoon to S. Haven to get some little matters for the house. Got a letter from Charles saying the children would start up in the morning of tomorrow. 
The wind shifted this afternoon to s w & stopped raining.

[[underlined]] Tuesday 26.[[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale is much better today than she has been. 
I planted a row of celery which I got from Mrs. W. Deibert,
