Mary, Clarra & Abert went to S. Haven this afternoon and there met Mrs. Dr. Shippen, who came home with them.

[[underlined]] Sunday 28.[[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale remains much the same, perhaps more comfortable than yesterday.
This morning Brothers Burd & George came to see her.
James, Joseph and my nephew Charles Patterson came they didnot stay to dine with us. 
This has been a most pleasant day cool without wind and nearly clear.

[[underlined]] Monday 29.[[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale was much as yesterday until this afternoon when she became better.
Dr. Carpenter [[strikethrough]] and Dr. Shannan [[/strikethrough]] came [[strikethrough]] in consultation [[/strikethrough]] this evening as Dr. Shannan had gone to the funeral of his mother.
Lydia, Fredericks wife, Miss Eaten and Mary Eliz. came this afternoon & and left Elizabeth here.

[[underlined]] Tuesday 30. [[/underlined]] Dr. Carpenter thinks Mrs. Peale is better today. I donot see much difference.
This afternoon Joseph and wife came to see her, and [[strikethrough]] Lydia  [[/strikethrough]] William, Emma & children came. Fredericks wife [[strikethrough]] Eliz [[/strikethrough]] (Elizabeth) went home with him and left Emma with us. Dr. Shannan came after I retired.

[[underlined]] Wednesday 31.[[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale is not so well today although she had a better appatite for her breakefast than she has had; she has required more rubbing today. 
Abert came in the carrs and came home with Mary. this afternoon. I have been much better today than I have been for a week past. The diarea is checked.
