[[underlined]] Friday 12th.[[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 99 although [[left margin note]] (set a Hen) [[/margin note]] it has been very dark & raining. We set a hen in the N.W. corner of the wash-house this evening.
Mrs. Peale is much better today. A E. Hub purchased one of my Slices of Watermellon on zinc. $1.50.
35°. n e rain. 42°. n e misty rain. 43°. calm s w rain.
[[underlined]] Saturday 13th [[/underlined]]. I painted all day on N. 99. This afternoon Sarah Levan called to see Mrs. Peale who is not so well today as yesterday.
37°. calm white frost. clo 5 w. 45°. w, clo 3 nw. 38°. calm, clear.
[[underlined]] Sunday 14th. [[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale is not so well today, the Dr. gave her an emitic which I hope will be of benefit to her. Edward was quite unwell yesterday afternoon and today the Dr. gave him medicine and this evening seems better.

[[underlined]] Monday 15. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on N 99.
This morning six government teems brought from Potte. 7 loads of manure for Edward @ $4.50 a load. put them on the lower part of the old orchard.
Mrs. Peale is so much better this evening that she is sewing along sides of me.

[[underlined]] Tuesday 16 [[/underlined]]. I painted the greater part of the day on N. 100 a Partridge piece Male, Female young ones with a view on the Juniatta as a back-ground.
Mrs. Elizabeth Patterson (Fredericks wife) and John came down and dined with us. She tells us that Joseph Patterson is very sick, confined to his bed with Pluricy.
Mrs. Peale is much better today.

[[underlined]] Wednesday 17. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 99. Mrs. Peale got up this morning quite bright, but in the afternoon she was not so well, the Dr. has given other medicine, this morning she thought of going to Potte. tomorrow, she has now concluded not to go.
The two Edwards went to Potte. this morning, and returned this evening leaving E. H. there.
The day has been rather unpleasant, west wind and occasional sprinkle of snow, but not enough to cover the ground.
