[[underlined]] Tuesday 3.[[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 100. The day has been so unpleasant that I couldnot do anything out of doors, I intended overhawling the Dahlias prepary to planting them as soon as I can get somebody to dig for me. Mrs. Peale is rather better today, but is getting very tired of the bed. Mary wrote for Canvasses and Paints this morning.

[[underlined]] Wednesday 4th.[[/underlined]] I painted a part of the morning on N. 100. Divided the Dahlia Roots ready to plant out. gave Matilda 3 roots. She came down with Eddy this afternoon brought some oranges and Ice cream for Mrs. Peale she relished them much, she is better today.
[[left margin note]] Sat Turkey[[/margin note]] Louisia sat a Turkey with 14 Eggs up in the woods.
Edward went this morning to Pottstown.
Cathrane Levan & two ladies came.
Mr. & Mrs. Atkins came also, brought 2 portraits for Mary to look at of his Father & Mother. She brought 2 the other day, miniatures perhaps by Wood, she is to coppey them. Miss Fisher & Robert Morris came also.

[[underlined]] Thursday 5th.[[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale was very bad from 4 oclock till towards noon, Dr. Shannon was sent for, he remained a long time with her, he came again in the middle of the day and Dr. Carpenter and he had a consultation in the afternoon which lasted over a hour, this evening she seems much better and relished her supper, was much inclined to sleep towards evening. Mrs. Carpenter came with the Dr. it is the first time she has been in Marys studio.

[[underlined]] Friday 6.[[/underlined]] I have been working in the garden all day. planted Valentine Beans, Okra, Turnip seed. Trimmed the Dipper Raspberries and put up their supports &c. Mrs. Try worked all the mornin in digging.  Mrs. Peale is much better today Dr. Shannan says she is getting along nicely. I hope so.
We got a letter from Burd, he is well & May is much as she has been since Mary was there sets up a little.
