I was kept all day in intertaining the company here that the house should be kept quiet. Brother George and Fredericks wife came this morning Frederick and Joseph came this afternoon. Charles & Edward went to Potte. this morning brought down Mrs. Green that Dr. Carpenter had recommended as a nurse for Mrs. Peale as Mary & Harriet are much overcome with constant attention and nursing. Dr. Shannan this evening pronounces her much better than she was this morning and says she is better today than she has been for five days past, but she is very weake and feeble, has taken more nourishment today. When Mary told her that the nurse was come, she became much excited and overcome. I found her this evening placid and composed.
