Edward came home from Pottstown at noon, bringing some fine ripe strawberries.
Mrs. Benny Pott dined with us.

[[underlined]] Friday 3.[[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale is much better today she can turn on her side so as to let me mgnitise her back while in bed which she couldnot do before and her voice is much stronger  James & Matilda came down this morning to see her. This aftern Sarah Levan and Mrs. Huntsinger came also.
I skinned a pet [[underlined]] canary Bird [[/underlined]] ready ready to mount for Miss L. Mended a table drawr for Louesia. Charles Wormcassel dug a little this afternoon for me.

[[underlined]] Saturday 4. [[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale is still improving. 
I mounted the canary Bird for Miss Levan as a present. I intended commencing another fruit piece, but undertaking to mount the canary bird made it too late in the day to paint.

[[underlined]] Sunday 5.[[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale is still better today. 
This afternoon brother Burd & Joseph came to see Mrs. Peale, also Frederick & wife and Stewards wife came, they all expressed their pleasure of seeing her so much better than they last saw her.

[[underlined]] Monday 6. [[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale slept well last night, and has been much better today.
Miss Sarah Levan came to see her this afternoon, Mr. Wolf came with her.
I painted the greater part of the day on N. 103 which I begun this morning
65° calm a little fog. 84°. calm s w. soon begun to cloud up and toward evening had 2 showers with thunder. 68°. calm, clear.
[[underlined]] Tuesday 7. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 103. 
Mrs. Peale had a better night than she has had since her illness, and is better today. she is gaining strength. C. Wormcassel has mowed the grass and weeds from the yard and opened the drain from the potatoe cellar it was much filled up with dirt and rubbish. This has been a very cool day for the season.
