139. Holmesburg June 1865, and July
[[underlined]] Thursday 29. [[/underlined]] I painted all the morning on N. 127 and 129. Burd went to Germantown returned this evening. the funeral of Mrs. Mc. Burney takes place [[strikethrough]] this afternoon [[/strikethrough]] the 30th.
[[underlined]] Friday 30th. [[/underlined]] sent a letter to Mary directed to S. Haven  Made a sketch in the church yard of Emanual on Canvas and coloured in at home painted all the morning on it N. 130.
Burd went at 11 oclock to Germantown took Burdie with him to the funeral of Mrs. Mc. Burnie, that was to take place at 3 oclock today.
A very severe thunder and lightning & rain storm is now ragging at 1/2 past 8. Burd came [[left margin note]] hot. [[/margin note]] home about 9 oclock. 80°. calm, clear. 93°. clear. ____.

Saturday [[strikethrough]] 31st[[/strikethrough]].[[/double underlined]]  I painted all the morning on N. 130. and amused Burdie by painting for her a bunch of currants, she having pointed out the colours for me to use except white & green.  71°. calm, clo 10.  81° [[?]]
[[underlined]] Sunday 2d. [[/underlined]]  went to Church this morning.  After dinner went with Burd to Tacony, the ride was delightful, a pleasant breese prevailed, saw a number of sail boats on the river.  After tea I went again with Burd visited and spent the evening at Mr. Fullers and spent a most delightful evening there, the family all present, the Revd. Mr. Melett.

[[underlined]] Monday 3.[[/underlined]]  I painted all the morning on N. 130. and dead coloured 2 Dahlias that Burdie brought from Mr. Evans last evening.  Rode out with Burd all the afternoon crossed the Pennapack 3 times.  made a slight sketch of an old mill that was built 1675.  69°. calm. clear. ______.  _____.
[[underlined]] Tuesday 4th.[[/underlined]]  I painted the greater part of the morning on N. 130. very little excitement here today, but in the evening a number of houses are eluminated along the main street, and a variety of fire works were set off along the main street.  72°. calm s w, clear.  ___.  77°. calm rain & lightning
[[underlined]] Wednesday 5. [[/underlined]]  I went with Burd this morning to the church yard and painted a little there and renewed it on my return.
