All of the religious faiths of the United States are united in affirming the rights of the Negro citizens of Selma, Alabama, to the traditional constitutional privileges of United States citizens.

We are here in vast representative numbers to give witness to the moral and spiritual issues raised by the civil rights movement.

We ask you respectfully to take immediate action to guarantee complete democratic processes and we urge you to appoint a personal representative to attend the Memorial services for Reverend James Rees being held today at 2:00 p.m. in Selma, Alabama at Browns Chapel.
