FOR PRIZE CONTEST

Tullahoma, Tenn.,
August 4, 1924.

W. Atlee Burpee Co.,
Philadephia, Pa.

Dear Sirs:-
It is a real pleasure and privilege to tell you -WHAT BURPEE'S SEEDS HAVE DONE FOR ME. Though, how I long for Gene Stratten Porter's marvelous word picturing gift. Then you could almost see the beautiful flowers in my garden today: about forty varieties, all grown from Burpee's Seeds.

I feel that I have seen the whole drama of life enacted, the mystery of Life and Death solved.
My garden is the work of my own hands. It has required human care, human companionship, human love, and has yiel^[[insertion]]d[[/insertion]]ed a return peculiarly mingled of nature and art.

There I have found solace, joy, diversion, health, inspiration.

The history of man began in a garden but it was a perfect, finished garden, and I wonder if Adam and Eve were as thrilled over it, as I have been to plant Burpee's Quality Seeds, watch them come up and grow, see the buds form, then catch my breath as the perfect flowers open and display their precious colors; living breathing jewels. This alone is enough to live for.

I graciously thank [[underlined]]you[[/underlined]] for these, my flowers - a great argument in favor of a real God. Oh! how they feed my soul!

Sincerely your future customer,
