open to attack any lions & C went down stream. He got another waterbuck & saw 2 crocs. I shot a zebra for bait & a pig.
[[underlined]] Feb 1. [[/underlined]]
We were away before dawn to visit the Zebra and Rhinos. The Zebra had not been touched but we saw something at the Rhinos as we came up. They turned out to be 4 or 5 Hyenas. We each[[strikethrough]]e[[/strikethrough]] got one as they made off. We could find nothing else except Kongoni & Zebra. We saw a few waterbuck but only small heads. Got back to camp about 11 am. Lions had been heard on the other side of camp during the night (down stream) and the waterbuck C had shot in the evening & left out had been eaten. It is a funny thing how it always happens to me & I never expect to find a lion on a kill now when I visit it in the morning.
I am going out again presently. The flies are awful and I suppose I pull quite 200 ticks off various parts of my body during the day.
[[underlined]] Later [[/underlined]] C shot another Rhino this evening more for bait than anything else as it was practically on the spot the lions ate the water buck last night.
