212596LPole9 109 20Mar 03 1913The primary A (see note in Pole on Jun 23 1913 Book 3 page 83) which has been in use recently, was removed today & replaced by its mate. This will be known as B unless it has been already designated other mn. in the preceding records.
212Mar 03 1913Mirror B was silvered about Dec. 26 1912 as recorded on page 141. It was grim, on Saturday March 1st, a protective coat of fastener lacquer. 1 first lacquer & to parts of thinner. Before it was put in tube, I examined it by looking across the surface obligating. Focus to differentiate colors, its coating appeared thicker at the edge, probably the edge which was down while the lacquer was drying.
212Mar 03 1913Examined 2 Stars, (one bright, the other faint) Bright star gave apparently good image. For faint star when image was slightly out of focus, one side of ring was brighter than other fact. As seeing was worse, others bright front or nuclei appeared. As I was out see how much was due to seeing. Than much to need of adjustment. Took the above plate as test.
