Nice day, painted all morning and got canvas further along. Light was very good in the morning. After lunch went to Luxombourg and then with Miss Sargent & sister went to Sacre Cour on Montmartre also visited several picture stores on Rue Lafitte. Saw several Manet's lot of Monet's, one done in '63 some Stevens and some very pretty Chavanne's. Got book of "[[underlined]] French verbs at a glance[[/underlined]]".

Paris was very pretty in the dusk from Sacre Cour, and the sunset across the river was fine. Was disappointed in the church at near acquaintance though it comes very handsomely against the sky from a distance. French all the evening.

Chocolate & Bread up Montmartre one in each hand every body does it here. Passed a good many Americans.

Nice morning again. Proffessor caught me in midst of my exercise and I had an hour & a half of French on an empty stomach as I had no time for Petite dejuner and it was eleven before he escaped

Downed my cold cocoa & bread and went for a walk in the Jardin du Luxombourg till lunch. Swell day.

Wrote Fairbanks after lunch and as it started pouring I made a composition, same old game of football.

Cleared off later on and I went around to 36 Rue St Peres to see Hoover & met three Americans, Thomas Frost & Barber. Same heavy dinner corresponding to an American breakfast. Went to
St Etienne Du Mond to services of St Genevive who has been made a full fledged saint, with Misses Somerville, Powers, & Mr. Hoover
