Slept some late. Went around to Halls [[?]] place for a minute yesterday a.m.
Lunch. Francaise all day. 
Bought a canvas for the Velasque
Lighted up the peat & had a two hour French lesson after dinner. French all day is something of a strain for me and I was well pleased when the Professor went

Started the Velasque L'Infanta Marie Teresa this morning. It's going to be very interesting to work from but I never saw so many rubber necks in my life as there are in the Louvre not that I mind being watched I'm used to that now but they refuse to take baths & will stand so close to me. Painted till four then hit [[?]] a little French  till dinner. After dinner I called at the no. 70 [[or 10?]] Rue Dausas [[?]].
Got a new cane this afternoon very similar to one the omnibus [[?]] broke.
