Nice day so I went to Durand Ruels. I hear there are some Degas' there also some Monets and some other good things. Had on me glad rags ^[[on]] and a cane and bought a pair of gloves at 17 Boulve. Montmartre a place called Maison "The Sport"
Got a bill for 197 francs for my first month here which I got down to 169. God I never saw such jews.
I take a smaller room tonight which lets me out at 143 francs with service.
Read over a lot of old letters preparatory to burning them & I got an awful bug. Went around to Halls for a minute and after dinner we went to Hotel de Ville to see the illuminations. Pretty. After this to Cafe Panthéon.
Bought to peach Japanese prints this afternoon.
Bed along here some ten cents per.
