Nice day but very warm. We spent part of the morning in the Botanical gardens. Afternoon in the Prado at work After the Prado closed came home said good bye to the Thomases of Philadelphia who were leaving and went down and made a sketch of the fountain
Sorry to have the matrimoniums go.
Took a short walk after dinner

Another [[underlined]] nice warm [[/underlined]] day which we all put in all day at the Prado. After we got hom T & I started a portrait of the little girl here in the house.
Got her seated in a half tone with hands and lower part coming out into light. The nature is very swell. Black hair with a whitish green pink in it. Grey and black dress against a rich warm curtain
Dinner, four men, with a bit of a rough house attached. Evening on the balcony.
Got a letter from Major. Mrs. E. L. is not very well. 
Says Mr. Tarbell had some fine things at the [[underlined]] "Den" [[/underlined]] at St. Botolph Club.
