Still raining this morning and everything afloat. Let up a little & Harvey & I went for a walk. I found something nice and got canvas & began to work. Sun came out terribly hot and soon after Lunch. Bement came while we were in the middle of lunch. I sewed on me breeches and later we all went in swimming. The ocean was very pretty with sky breaking away clouding up again & the sunlight on the water over toward Belle Isle. The fishing fleet went out with their pretty red sails & we saw two of them racing

Took a walk around to the next little clump of houses & back through the fields Dinner & evening in.

These villages are picturesque and no mistake and the people also with their quaint costumes Big strong sun burned men with velvet streamers on their hats like a three year old boy.
