Rainy worked awhile on the little girl nothing doing however.
Walked after lunch. Back to house & worked awhile in the garden as sun came out for about ten minutes.
Went for another walk and found some pretty flowers some fifteen different kinds worked in house awhile
Grubbed & then we went out in the gardens and as we passed the wood pile in Indian file our hands all cramped and when in my room we found we had wood enough for a fire. How strange. Isn't it? very.
So we sat around that and talked till 8.30 then to bed.

Its been a holiday for the orphans here and all the orphans from the Port Navalo convent have been spending the day here. Sent em twice to church and fed em and walked the whole bunch along the shore for a while.
We all took a long walk across the country this A.M and the weather was clearing after the past bad weather. Masses of lovely clouds hung low over the rolling country with here or there patches of blue sky and an occasional streak of sunlight in the distance makeing a Constable or Turner. One of the prettyist walks Ive ever taken.
Worked a little on the church after lunch.
Then Hall & I went in off the dock. Met Frenchman, seaman who had been seven years in American vessels & spoke good English. Grub & a few cards in the Salon. All fired out at nine
