Slept late and missed Hall so I spent morning an Louvre. Late to dinner. Found telegram from Robinson. Tried to call him up on telephone but couldn't get him so I went out there got there at 6.30 or so. They were fine and insisted that I stay all night.

Chateau is very nicely situated with half a mile of avenue leading up to it Big moat running around it with room enough for a boat.

Mrs. Webb was very charming. Met a Mr. Shields, a Miss Wingate, his future wife, a Madam Dekomar who is Russian and speaks seven languages. Also Robinson's brother who seems fine.

Got up at 8.30. When I woke for a minute forgot where I was. Mrs. Webb was not at breakfast as she is not well. A walk afterwards and then Robinson & I went for a corking ride. The horses are corkers and wanted to run all the time. We let them out once in a big wheat stubble and I guess we slipped and crossed a big strip of winter wheat but they were doing about a mile a minute and didnt touch in many places.

Saw Robinsons things had tea and pony cart was ready. Good bye to all and Robinson & his brother took me to the train. Fine time.

Met fellows at dinner, called ensemble at Miss Sargents afterwards & were taken to the club Such a business Said good bye there. To Miss Ackley & the others.
