Wrote Harvey and went to dinner. Walked for an hour out the big boulevard and back to my room. They seem to be white here as my bill is just ten francs as he said it would be. Something may happen yet though before [[I leave?]]

Left Bruxelles this A.M. at 1057 and got here in just one hour. Looked up a hotel in the guide as I came along, picked out La Fleurs D'Or and its in just the right place. Two steps out of Place Verte and not far from the Musée and the Cathedral just beside me and the chimes are very fine also.
Went to the Musée right after lunch and found some beautiful things. Rubens, Van Dyke, Rembrands beautiful "Saskia", a nice Hals and two very fine Alfred Stevens One of which I have a repro. of at home and its the best of his, away ahead of the Bruxels ones. The modern stuff is all the poor time worn story picture with the everlasting corpse.
But I'll stay here a week if not more
Got some mail & Alden has been out to my house.
