Went over to studio at 8.30.  The little Dago was waiting for me.  Worked awhile &  Mr. Gay came.  Said the usual things and also told me of some things to see in Belgium & Holland & Italy.  Took me to lunch and gave me a good one (I noted the bill was 13F 50c) and a good cigar after it. Then did we part perhaps for ever. He has been very nice indeed to me.
Washed brushes & went to the Lucky bug for a while. Got letter from Mother & one from Miss Sargent from Iterlaken
Got me new short breeches & they fit something like. I think in time I could make a tailor of that man. Walked down to the river & made a bad pencil stunt or two
Dinner & French chin au Salon.

Garcon forgot to call me this AM. but I was not so worse meself. Worked on Dago again. Met Lucius on Rue de Reames.
Lunched. Louvre. Then over to Durand Ruel's. Saw some new Monets and two new, that is new to me Manets. One of an old beggar in a blue coat & brown cape and red tam (not very red) was first rate be gosh. One of the Monets was a ripper. One other was exquisite a twilight feller of a bank grass a house & trees back of it
