Took a sea-bath in the tub. Walks and talks. Saw porpoises [[superscript]] * [[/superscript]] leaping prettily. "Dutch made Easy" seems almost at a standstill. Called on Mrs. Wadsworth, whose rheumatism the wet weather has been affecting. Nice long talk. Mr. Meyvis showed me photos of his works at the Salon S.A.A., Academy etc. Strong manly things with influence of his teachers the Dutch. The concert discussed after dinner. No one wanted to do a poster. Finally Mr. Meyvis lent a piece of wall-paper from his Hague studio on which a friend had (very clearly) drawn two figures. I did the lettering. Concert a grand success. The salon packed with first & second cabin people. Mr. Ezerman played Liszt etc. Miss Zeiller - Mr. Rurhunfornspowste [[?]] & Mr. Kinsbergen (violin) played (with B.T.) $40.00 [[insertion]] (sold) [[/insertion]] collected for lifeboat institutions. Wonderful phosphorescence.

Made another onslaught on the diary. Never knew myself to be so lazy. "Aesthetics" is always put away untouched. Gray, changing weather. Mr. Potter and Mr. Barbier talk of a dance. Called on Mrs. W. Played cards with Mrs. Doolittle, Miss Hegman and Mr. Wagner. Tempus fugit. In the evening the dance did actually come off. The band played for the two cabins. We were on the upper deck. They had arranged E. lights and had sanded the floor. We had almost Shinnecock Virginia reel. Rain. We were damp after dancing and needed toddy. We made it! Some fun skirmishing for the materials. Jolly people.
