As regards [[underlined]] Delphinus vermontanus [[/underlined]] Thompson, it is true that he originally described the species with that name, but in the [[strikethrough]] Natural [[/strikethrough]] History of VA, 1853, Appendix, p. 15, he [[strikethrough]] used [[/strikethrough]] substituted the name [[underlined]] Beluga vermontana [[/underlined]] Thompson.
[[underlined]] Beluga [[/underlined]] Rafinesque (1815) is [[preoccupivly?]] [[underlined]] Delphinapterus [[/underlined]] [[Lacipida?]] (1804). Hence the species, which [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] certainly belongs to the latter genus, stands as [[underlined]] Del- vermontana [[/underlined]] (Thompson) -
