I got a book from the library "Black Magic" and read the part on the West Indies - really Haiti. They are a series of stories illustrating the black man's temperament. Altho inaccurate in details (1 gourde = $1.00) it is interesting from an artistic standpoint.

This comes to about $80+ a month, and we couldn't expect much for less. Miss Lockhart seem so anxious to please, and we find the food at the hotel is the best we have had in ages, with enough fruit & vegetables.
Did a little straightening up, but as I wasn't feeling so very ambitious I didnt do much. I notice that after any excitement or upset I always [[strikethrough]] g I [[/strikethrough]] get the pain in my side. I took a little nap
