August 13, 1926.

Mrs. W. B. Collom,
Payson, Arizona.

My dear Mrs. Collom:

Your letter of August 3d is just at hand.
Thank you very much for the information that you send me regarding the [[underlined]] Dudleya [[/underlined]]. I should be very glad indeed to get some specimens this fall.

I am not familiar with the plant that you call the mescal plant from your region. Is this a Cactus? You ought to have it identified. If you wish to send me a specimen I will be very glad indeed to do this for you. I am leaving, however, in a day or two and shall be away from the city for about three weeks.

Yours very truly,

J. N. Rose
Associate Curator,
Division of Plants.
