June - some a little early, others a little late.
Here in this section, (probably in others also.) we have the [[underlined]] hottest [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] driest [[/underlined]] season of the year [[insertion]] during May & June. [[/insertion]]
The plants almost die down during the summer. I want to watch them this fall and see just when they are right for transplanting, so that you can be sure of having some bloom next spring.
I will send the little cactus you mentioned soon.
Would you like any small mescal plants?
I am not sure of its technical name, but it is the plants from which the Indians make a drink "Tiswin" or "Tulapai".
The drink is similar to the drink "Tequila" made by the Mexicans from the Maguey plants.
The mescal is now in bloom & is striking in its orange brilliance.
If at any time, I can serve you in any way, please let me know.
Yours very truly,
Rose E. Collom
(Mrs. W. B. Collom.)
