how bright and gay the little plants look blooming among the rocks on an almost barren mountain side.
I am particularly fond of a small lily we have - "Mission Bells" or "Orange Bells".
It had been found only once before in Arizona when I sent in my specimen to Dr. Thornber.
It is so shy and dainty and not abundant.
It grows at an altitude of not less than 5000 ft.

I sent you those other Cotyledons because I had the opportunity of mailing them promptly, and they were prettier than the others I had sent.
