The Dourado trip did not cost nearly as much as I expected. It was 300$ fare both ways - and it cost me just that from Alegre to Santa Barbara de Caparao, a run of 4 hours, 150 each way. The agronomist's wife refused pay for meals, (cafe and jantar), so I put 25$ in the little boys bank for schooling. Little Erasmo tries to abrir the bank but can't do it. I paid 15$ for the rattletrap automobile that took us to the Indian reservation and I'm send-
