Friday - Superbe weather.
Went to Bar le duc for the day + night
Saturday [[insertion]] 23 [[/insertion]]. Back in Ippecourt where I spent the day, in idleness owing to motor troubles which are prevalent throughout the district.
Sunday, 24 - Continued wonderful weather  Went to Verdun - where Phellps joined me and after lunch - went to Dun and Stenay where we spent the night - sleeping in billets.

Monday 25 - Up at 5 - Rainy morning - Breakfasted with the men - standing in the long lines - off into Luxemborg.
Arrived at Luxemborg, in time for lunch - wonderful to be here - plays all over the city - and the town full of American Soldiers. - at lunch - [[underlined]] plenty [[/underlined]] of bread, [[underlined]] butter [[/underlined]], and [[underlined]] sugar [[/underlined]], no bread tickets, plenty of everything !!
Later went on to Metz. !!  which was even more decorated with flags, -  Children crowded around us, speaking German saying "long live the French - long live the Americans"
- Passed through Pont a maison - terribly knocked up - full of darkey soldiers - and then on through the wildest - most shell torn county, Fliry Beaumont etc and very late arrived at ------ and about midnight I took an abominable train for Paris

Arrived in Paris at 1.30  7 hours late, found Corrina had been very ill with Flu, now better
