After a long final talk with Cray - Bill and I came to Paris in a quick and comfortable train - (I had not dreamed that such a thing could possibly exist on this line)
Found Corinna and Sara well - and Corinna particularly happy having just had a charming friendly letter from Gen Pershing.
She and Marie Bonney. will probably get off on their Northern trip on Thursday or Friday.
Monday 9th   A long busy. hard day. and a pitiful and ridiculous state of affairs as to transportation develops - [[underlined]] NO [[/underlined]] CARS WHATSOEVER - running in the entertainment Department. for Cray's work -
I had an interview with Mr Carter and told him plainly-
Corinna and Marie dined with Dr Lucas - and I went with Jack - and met Roger McVeigh at the restaurant

Stayed in bed all day - Dr Taylor came to see me - nothing more serious than a cough -
Wednesday 11 - Wrote a letter to Steele with my observations on his "suggested reorganization of the Department" -  observed that I was at the head of the Soldier Talent - and not Mr B - as might have been construed by reading the statement - stated flatly that no rule
