Mother wrote, I wrote in journal, Lily read & drew. In the afternoon we took a walk down to Oxford St. When we returned home we found that father had got back. He had seen [[MD?]] Hankey who was very polite; also Mr. Nasmith, he was very kind, and being a dentist, took out a jaw tooth which had been troubling father for some time. Father afterwards went to the top of St. Paul's Cathedral, and saw the view of London, which he says is really a sublime sight. The wind blew very hard while we had up there. In the evening Mr. Tripp called to see us. Father's gum bled very much when the tooth was taken out, and continued to bleed during the day and evening, and when it was near bed time, feeling uneasy, mother went with him over to the apothecary, nearly opposite, who succeeded in stopping it right away.
