Saw a large badger, big face black and white and furry. He was digging a fresh hole.
Today we followed US 93 from Challis, Idaho, on down the Salmon River Canyon to Salmon and to North Fork, where the river turns west and road turns up the North Fork of the Salmon River [[left margin]] 246 mi. [[/left margin]] At the top crossed over. Last Trail Pass ^[[into mountain]] and down into the Bitterroot Valley. Went up a side road west into the foot of the Bitterroot Mts., then on to Hamilton (Rocky Mt. Lab. of US PHS) and Missoula (Montana State University). Stopped at the Spur Motel on south side. All [[?]] filled up.
