In the above diagram A, is the die shown in the diagrams p.39, B, the wire for the central conductor, C, the strip of [[insertion]] paraffined [[/insertion]] paper, D, the copper strip for forming the inner tube, and E, the copper strip for the outer tube.  After passing the die A wire B, paper C, and copper strip D, are rolled up into a round wire, F, the joint in the tube formed by D, being upon the upper side.  In passing through die G, strip E is wrapped around F, with the joint on the bottom.  This arrangement ensures that the joints come opposite or very nearly so, as shown in the following diagram which is a sectional view of the completed conductor.
