A wrote to Steiglitz, Davidsons, his mother, paid Montross.  I cleaned boat, tired from trip to N.Y.

Wea.     FRIDAY 9     Ther.
A worked on engine, reseating squealey valves.  Then to Northport.  Took laundry  marketed, into hotel for beers, an almost modern etching called "The Road to Prosperity" in dining room.

Wea.     SAT. SEPT. 10, 1927     Ther.
Both to village & for quite a walk through village.  Out in dink & outboard in afternoon.  Barometer falling.  I cleaned out ice chest & windows & doors & put clean curtains up.

Barometer falling - Started back to Halesite once, thought looked too stormy, back & fixed valve again.  Started again at 11/30 & got here at [[strikethrough]] 12.40 [[/strikethrough]] 1.10.
