OCTOBER
TUESDAY-12
 A story from [[underlined]] Pictorial Review [[/underlined]], wanted by Nov. 1.  A & I out to Lloyds, saw sail boats start out on race.  Fished by old light house caught 2 mackerel.  Had lunch, then out to gravel works & altogether got 19 mackerel, had 4 for supper, delicious, gave rest to Tony - here - 1 gal.  A's cold quite bad.

WEDNESDAY-13
A called up Mr. Steinmetz & Casey, then A & I rowed across to mill & walked up to vegeatable place & got vegs, fruit, vinegar, pickles & eggs.  Wrote up diary in P.M.

OCTOBER
THURSDAY-14
A & I ^[[walked]] to Huntington Library looking up dope for Pic. R. story, found a letter.  Stopped & found curtains would die.  Home, had lunch.  Over to tin boat in P.M. got other curtains & ripped rings off. A prospecting about for winter place again.

FRIDAY-15
I walked to Huntington taking three other curtains to be dyed.  In afternoon to yacht Club where A took photographs of me for story.
