Started wine - - ([[Comers?]] ice cafés) Big wind all night - not much sleep. [preprinted]] MONDAY-25 [[/preprinted]] 75 mile gale. most of day spent looking storm. Tin boat drifted, A & Charlie Scudder fetched it to Erwin's mooring. Coal box & contents blew off, A & I out at high tide & tied rope it & towed it to winter dock. A worked on drawing in afternoon & I to Huntington for stove pipe & food [[end page]] [[start page]] [[preprinted]] OCTOBER TUESDAY-26 [[/preprinted]] A dug trench for keel, put down bricked path for water to flow along. Got stuff off tin boat. Down in Mona to lower mooring, dropped mooring & drew bearings (put in cash journal) Back to Halesite winter dock, tied masts, fixed lines, put up stove pipe. Worked on drawing. I to Huntington mailed check to Bill, got chop suey for supper, & almond cakes Wrote to Chall to send coat. [[preprinted]] WEDNESDAY-27 [[/preprinted]] Dried & took off sails & jigger boom, put tin boat along side. Worked on P.R. drawing & in evening until 9.15 I sewed & posed, next to stove. A's cold & cough quite severe.
