MAY 3 Friday
Both working on boat.
A called up & Estelle laughing meanwhile said Randolph was now famous in Stamford. They put sardines in f.p. - no cat -
Dorothy called up police dept. - said they didn't know what to do in a case like that to call up Fire Dept. She did. They said open damper that lets soot out. She got soot all over herself but no cat. They didn't hear him & decided he was dead. As they sat reading in evening that darned cat [[strikethrough]] came [[/strikethrough]] stepped out of fire place, & purred against them! Is now friends  than whole family.
A big blow - thunder & lightning rain. Boat rolled so we couldn't sleep.

Saturday - MAY 4
Arthur painting on boat, I house cleaning in house all day.
A nice funny letter from A's mother to me.
In the early evening, Mr. P. Helen, Dunning, & his new man in. Gave them pink drinks. Quite amusing.
