Virginia.  To. wit,

    I Charles. G. Eskridge Clerk of the County Court of Loudoun & state aforesaid, do hereby certify that Elizabeth Carter who is a Girl nearly 15 years of age 5 feet 2 Inches high a very dark Mulatto, has two very small moles on the right side of her neck a newly made scar from a burn near the end of the middle finger on the right hand & on top of it, was this day proved to be free born by the oath of Jas. McIlhany Esqͬ before James Sinclair one of the Justices of the peace in said County, was this day registered in my office according to law

At a Court held for Loudoun County the 9th November 1846 The register of Elizabeth Carter No. 1387, was this day presented to the Court examined found to be correct and ordered to be certified accordingly

    I, Charles G. Eskridge Clerk of the County Court of Loudoun in the state aforesaid do hereby certify that the above register is correctly transcribed from the record as it now remains in my office according to law --
