Mon 11 PM I've come up to Kress's alone to write this. 
 This is the black book indeed The black book of suspicion I don't want to suspect Carol. and [[tis?]] here told the story of my experience in Gloucester. I don't want to suspect her but my God
how can I help it after the spectacle that greeted me. Ever since I am changed. That apparition comes back to me, and then her calling out in her sleep.  How can I know. How can I know. whether or not he should stay away. Carol exonerated him and herself, I was not unfavorably impressed on Saturday with what he said of his position in my home and [[underlined]] how [[/underlined]] he [[underlined]] said [[/underlined]] it. I could not see him well in the moonlight but Sunday in the daylight I did not 
like his looks so [[?]]. He looks thin and sleek and a bit sharp I thought. He said he was drafted but rejected for internal trouble His father
says he thinks he may have a slight internal rupture. On Sunday he left to go swimming and I did not see him again.  Whether he has called since I have been away.  Saturday & Sunday the two days [[strikethrough]] hed [[/strikethrough]] he'd have time from his work to call I shall not know immediately I shall never know from personal observation. I must trust Carol. If I am ever convinced of any breach of truth on her part God knows what I will do.
