As we drove in Lee Highway this morning, a [[underlined]] Towhee [[/underlined]] called alongside the busy road.

April 2, 1953 - Thurs.
Home today - one day of leave. Towhee called in woods across Rochester. Bluebirds carrying nest material in box. Song Sparrows have been giving indications of nesting in the White Spruce, and now I see they have been roosting in it. Chipping Sparrows singing all day - Cowbirds calling.

April 4, 1953 - Sat.
Fine day. Towhees singing all day long across Rochester. Cardinals, Cowbirds, Chipping & Field Sparrows, Killdeers.
