Routine work.  Letter dictating and packing my valises for trip South. 

Feb 14 (1915 (Sunday).  Finished packing  
Bowman here for lunch.  Drove him to University club.  There met [[underlined in red]] Richard Anthony [[/underlined in red]] and a certain [[underlined in red]] Mr. Hubbell [[/underlined in red]] law-counsel for N.Y. Life Insurance Co.  Discussed war.  All very antigerman.  Hubbell says that one of his brothers is the head of an ammunition factory, and that when war broke out Germany [[strikethrough]] was [[/strikethrough]] the only country [[strikethrough]] which [[/strikethrough]] with Austria that had a full supply of ammunition and the allies have had to work

Warm heavy day. Spoke [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] to Hammon over phone to mention fact that [[underlined in red]] Kirk Brown [[/underlined in red]] thinks that England may hesitate to let phenol or cresol be exported to a [[strikethrough]] germ [[/strikethrough]] firm like [[underlined in red]] Roessler Hasslacher [[/underlined in red]] with distinct German [[strikethrough]] affilat [[/strikethrough]] affiliations.  Remained home all day.

Feb. 16.  Left for Washington with [[underlined in red]] Celine [[/underlined in red]].  Evening went to a play "Lady Luxury".  Stopped at Shoreham Hotel.

Feb 17.  Up at 9:30 AM.  Went to Townsend and discussed Bakelite and Hooker matters.  [[underlined in red]] Townsend [[/underlined in red]] has just started  [[underlined in red]] a small research laboratory [[/underlined in red]] near his office in charge of which is [[underlined in red]] Dr. Marsh [[/underlined in red]].  Afternoon
