left before supper. Townsend left after supper. Then came [[red underline]] Dr. [[Eastabrooke?]] [[/red underline]] to talk me about [[strikethrough]] as to a tamic acid [[/strikethrough]] tannic acid process which he says he has invented.  He wants to dispose of it.  told him I am not interested in it beyond that I shall be glad to help him make a connection.

May 27. Left early. Bright and cold day.  At 11 A.M at office beginning of my testimony in Aylsworth - Baekeland [[red underline]] interference relative naphthalene [[/red underline]]  Townsend, Frank Dyer, Dyer Smith and Aylsworth there. Everything went good naturedly.  I testified till 1 P.M then from 2:30 to 4:30 P.M.
Returned home with 5:30 P.M train.  The weather is getting still colder.  Frosts reported from many parts of the country

May 28.  Started testimony at office at 10:30 AM. [[red underline]] Frank Dyer and Dyer Smith present. [[/red underline]] Townsend interrogating, explained contents of my notes and significance of correspondence between [[red underline]] Seabury, [[/red underline]] Thurlow [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] Townsend and myself.  Aylsworth not there.  Short recess for lunch then further till 4:30 P.M. Took [[strikethrough]] lunch [[/strikethrough]] Townsend for supper at University Club and he invited me to see a farce-play, "Full house."

May 29. Cold and gray. Dictated letters all morning.  Only interrupted by visit of [[red underline]] Max Toch and his wife and Rubens [[/red underline]] of Havana and his wife.  Afternoon Celine and Nina went to see Greek Play on occasion of opening of Stadium at N.Y. City College.

I spent 2 hours on estimate of cost of manufacture of oxalic acid for R.B.P. Co. Evening went to fetch [[red underline]] Dr. George Sarton [[/red underline]] at Pennsylvania Station and he came here to stay for two days.
