I am specially glad that [[red underline]] the honor was conferred upon me entirely unsought [[/red underline]] and undesired and that I was elected without my knowledge and without the slightest attempt or desire on my part to get the help of my friends. The room was not overcrowded but there was a good attendance and some of the exhibits were quite interesting.  Mostly chemical machinery.
