Went to Yonkers City Hall before board of Assessors to protest against raise to $25000 for assessment on personal property explained my property was almost all in property already assessed and exempt from classification as [[strikethrough]] pru [[/strikethrough]] personal

July 20. Got telegram from Senator [[red underline]] Stone [[/red underline]] of Missouri that he will hold meeting on [[red underline]] Dye-Stuff [[/red underline]] schedule tomorrow evening, so got ready in a hurry to take 3:30 P.M train for [[red underline]] Washington.- [[/red underline]] Sweltering hot weather. On train met Maximilian [[red underline]] Toch and Kliptein. [[/red underline]] Evening went to roof garden of New Raleigh Hotel with Toch and his engineer.
July 21. Went to call at Secretary [[red underline]] Daniels [[/red underline]] who gave me letter of introduction to [[red underline]] Senator Stone [[/red underline]] Captain Strother Smith took lunch with me at Shoreham.
At 8 P.M to night special hearing at [[red underline]] Stone's [[/red underline]] office
