Smith readily agreed [[/red underline]] to this & seems in a more [[red underline]] conciliatory [[/red underline]] mood. He will typewrite it and send it to me then I shall try to get a similar statement to fit it from [[red underline]] Herty. Smith insists [[/red underline]] matter should not be submitted to [[red underline]] advisory board [[/red underline]] of editors but [[red underline]] only to Stieglitz. Stieglitz [[/red underline]] letter was used as a basis.
