May 16.  Went to meet [[red underline]] Frank L. Dyer [[/red underline]] at Chemists Club 3 P.M.  He had sent me a telegram expressing [[red underline]] his regret at situation [[/red underline.]]  I expressed [[red underline]] my indignation at tricks of Kirk Brown. [[/red underline]]  He started to argue and I asked him if [[red underline]] it were decent, courteous or  tactful for Brown to send [[/red underline]] his communication to [[red underline]] publications [[/red underline]] without first taking the time to submit [[red underline]] it to us? Accused Brown of trickery, faithlessness, [[/red underline]] etc. etc.  Got very wrought up.  Showed him stupidity of cutting prices without necessity at at time when raw materials

labor and general expenses were all going up. [[red underline]] Felt very angry but did not blame [[/red underline]] Dyer.  Told him I had constantly supported attitude of conciliation advocates by him but [[red underline]] had reached my limit and felt my confidence in Condensite to vanishing in view of tricks of Brown.
Afterwards meeting with [[red underline]] Bride [[/red underline]] of Washington, who is organizing society [[red underline]] "One flag one Country". Pupin [[/red underline]] there we explained he has committed fatal mistake of putting [[red underline]] Steinmetz [[/red underline]] as chairman who has discredited himself as a [[strikethrough]] po [[/strikethrough]] pro-German.  Bride did [[red underline]] not know Steinmetz [[/red underline]] and seems to have acted very light headedly.  Seems a light hearted man.  Both [[red underline]] Pupin [[/red underline]] and myself repeated our attitude and advised to stop temporarily organization of that society
