we had a most interesting conversation.

A very interesting matter on various subjects. Then after lunch met [[red underline]] Pupin, Dana, Mali [[/red underline]] discussion of aviation situation very interesting. [[strikethrough]] indev [[/strikethrough]] then after ^[[Capt]] [[red underline]] de Guiche [[/red underline]] came to have [[red underline]] further talk with me on same subject. [[/red underline]] He tells me he has brought [[red underline]] designs of improved french aviation motor and design can be altered to adapt cylinders [[/red underline]] and other parts of our liberty motor and [[red underline]] three stories of Packard [[/red underline]] Co plant in detroit have been given to him for expediting his

work. [[red underline]] Weston [[/red underline]] called up from V.d.Bilt hotel to meet me but after my visitors had left me, Weston could no longer be found. [[red underline]] I feel very tired and nervous. Too much strain and a bad cold during these two last days. Rather nervous [[/red underline]] sleep. - Remained at University Club.
Jan 14. Still in New York went to see [[red underline]] Porter [[/red underline]] to report about situation and repeated again that he might just as well [[red underline]] reduce expenses by stopping my retainer. The matter [[/red underline]] is trivial to me and after I [[red underline]] have paid excess taxes little is left of that retainer. [[/red underline]]
