not successful. We picked a pail full of very flat oysters, which grow on the roots of mangrove trees. Pretty shells but very little to eat on them. They have a somewhat bitter taste. Then at about 3 P.M made up my mind to go as far north as possible in view of my departure tomorrow. We had a full Eastern against us otherwise weather was beautiful. The sun set near Featherbed Banks and we put up the running lights and kept navigating at dark.  Enjoyed very much the experience. The water was phosphorescent. No moon but bright stars. Our provisions are practically all gone except some canned cheese, potatoes and onions, so we tried to make one real meal out of them.
