and loveliest Spring weather. All the Iris and Whisteria are in bloom.
May 26. Busy with my correspondence, then drove to Yonkers to buy more supplies. Then towards evening went [[red underline]] aboard Ion. [[red underline]] Albert and James [[/red underline]] who have been [[strikethrough]] des [[/strikethrough]] trying to locate my mushroom anchor, caught a long steel cable and in trying to dislodge it found a [[red underline]] very good [[strikethrough]] large [[/strikethrough]] 100 lb. Kedge anchor. [[/red underline]] I remained aboard and until late kept fixing up things. Mild lovely weather.
May 27. Up early. Bright & sunny. About noon time went to the house

Afternoon [[red underline]] Leslie Ray [[/red underline]] a [[red underline]] Naval Militia Sailor [[/red underline]] applied for position. On hearing good references from his captain engaged him on trial. Afternoon went aboard Ion. Albert and James in trying to lift that cable damaged the railing.
[[red underline]] Remained on board [[/red underline]] Mr. [[red underline]] May [[/red underline]] joined me towards evening and came to tell me about [[strikethrough]] Dr. Benedict [[/strikethrough]] a new product of formaldehyde which [[red underline]] Dr. Benedict of Cornell Medical School has discovered [[/red underline]] and which seems to cover some of the field of Bakelite Says [[red underline]] he and Rossi [[/red underline]] believe it has possibilities, but have no information beyond fact hat it is made from [[red underline]] formaldehyde [[/red underline]]
