Sept.26
Met Townsend and Seabury at Townsend's office. and told Seabury he should not always strike a fighting attitude with Kirk Brown and thus complicate matters. Went to office. There met Turner of Chemical Catalog Co and in presence of George Roll suggested he should correct his statements in Journal de la Societe' de Chemie Industrielle relating our merger so as to make it agree with the facts which he readily agrees to do. Told George Roll why at present it would be wrong policy to make George Baekeland join the Bakelite organization. 
Sept. 27. Went to Columbia Inauguration Ceremony. Met

Bender had short interview with him in regard to Bakelite Scholarship. Will see him to morrow
Sept. 28. Spent most of day on board Ion fixing up things Lewis has painted and varnished outside. Afternoon further interview with Bender at Spuyten Duivel where I explained plan of work and told him confidentially of Schrimpe's work with H2 + C2H2 + C6H5 all in presence of Hg.
Sept. 29. Long interview with Townsend and Brichenstein in regard to contemplated suits of infringement of patents and trade - marks. Took them for lunch. Columbia University Club. Evening went for supper. University Club
