Feb. 13. Up early. and tipping Valises sent separately by waggon of hotel. Hotel bus takes us to landing of Cook's Nile Steamer [[red underline]] Arabia. [[/red underline]] A pleasant spot quietly situated just out of the city, shaded by date palms Steamer looks like a large private houseboat - Paddle-side which draws about 5 1/2 feet and makes 5-6 knots upstream Steamer clean and well kept Roomy single cabins all very clean. Only objection [[red underline]] electric lights cease at 11 P.M. [[/red underline]]
Crew made of Arabians stewards white robed and red sash and red slippers. [[red underline]] Ideal climate. [[/red underline]] no flies nor other insects.
